About the Proposed Community

click here for July and August Summary ReportMidPen Housing plans to submit a proposal for an affordable housing community on the 10.875-acre Moss Beach site to the County of San Mateo in early 2017. The 71-unit development will bring much-needed affordable housing to the Midcoast region, while a thoughtful site design will preserve a significant amount of open space on the site and integrate the community with the existing neighborhood. Homes will be clustered on roughly half the site in low-rise, two-story buildings with sufficient parking on site, and the development will offer community space for neighborhood use. The remainder of the site will include walking paths and natural, passive open-space.

Our Goal

To provide affordable housing in Moss Beach targeted for 71 families that work in the Midcoast area in a well-designed community that respects and honors the coastal character of the Midcoast and enhances the range of housing options available to local workers.
