Elina Kaplan

Senior Vice President, MidPen Services

Aligning resources to achieve meaningful impact

“My family immigrated to the U.S. when I was a child and initially lived in affordable housing. So I’ve been the recipient of MidPen’s mission and am privileged to now have the opportunity to give back. This is truly the most extraordinary place I’ve ever worked!”

Elina joined MidPen in 2016 with over 20 years of management experience in both the non-profit and high-tech sectors. She leads MidPen Services, the affiliate that empowers thousands of our residents to transform their lives through high-quality services for youth, working adults, seniors and those with special needs. In her role, she oversees a staff of 85+, an annual budget of $8 million, and dozens of strategic partnerships.

Driven to deliver high-impact programs with extraordinary outcomes for those they serve, Elina calls on her educational background in math, computer science and business to develop rigorous systems to quantify and measure results, which has led to increased investments and leveraged resources. Prior to MidPen, Elina held leadership posts at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Community Federation, Cybertrek Technologies, and Oracle Corporation. She’s currently on the Board of Limmud Bay Area, a non-profit providing adult education services. In her free time, Elina enjoys reading historical fiction, planning travel adventures near and far and spending time with extended family who followed her to the San Francisco Bay Area!

FUN FACT: Elina grew up in Minsk, Belarus and used to ski to school!
