Lillian Lew-Hailer

Vice President, Real Estate Development
“There’s nothing that compares to handing someone the keys to their new apartment, and welcoming them home. I feel incredibly privileged to contribute to those kinds of moments and grateful to work for an organization that owns its communities for the long-term, so our residents have the peace of mind that their homes will remain affordable and well cared for.”

As Vice President of Real Estate Development, focused on design and construction, Lillian “Lilli” is driven by her passion for creating vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive communities. Encouraging a culture of communication and collaboration, Lilli supports the MidPen Development department on all matters related to design and construction, including team selection, systems implementation, contracting, building guidelines, and risk mitigation. Lilli joined MidPen in 2009, first as a Senior Project Manager and then as a Development Director, where she focused on implementing green building practices and standards for the development portfolio, including project management of Main Street Village in Fremont, which provides supportive, sustainable, award-winning homes for formerly homeless families.

Prior to MidPen, Lilli held key positions at New Boston Fund, Inc. and BRIDGE Housing. She currently serves on the board of East Bay Housing Organizations (EBHO). In her 15+ years in the housing field, Lilli has contributed to the production of over 3000 new homes, and with the development of each one, resident move-in day remains her favorite! In her free time, Lilli lets her creative energy flow; excited by DIY endeavors, you’re likely to find her making, building or crafting something with her own two hands.

Fun Fact

Lilli once considered a career in truck driving so she could travel through several parts of the United States, and even applied to drive the Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile! Although the opportunity to become a Hotdogger didn’t work out, Lilli continues to find other ways to explore the country – by air, land and sea!
