Mardie combines her experience in design, development and finance with a passion for making places where people can thrive. In 2005, this led her to co-found Hello Housing, a non-profit organization that develops and implements innovative housing programs for low to moderate-income households. Mardie joined the MidPen executive team in 2016 when Hello Housing became a MidPen Housing affiliate.
Prior to Hello Housing, Mardie was a leader at the Opportunity Fund in Silicon Valley and before that, spent five years developing affordable housing that revitalized Houston’s lowest income neighborhood, the Fifth Ward. Having been both a Harvard Service Leadership Fellow and an Echoing Green Fellow, Mardie is a frequent presenter at local and national conferences on housing and social change and she currently serves on the Board of Directors for Grounded Solutions Network, a national organization that promotes housing affordability and healthy communities. During her down time, you may run into Mardie experiencing the Bay Area outdoors (a.k.a. playgrounds!) with her young, energetic son or enjoying live music with friends.
