Alice Talcott

Senior Vice President, Housing Finance
“I love working with the MidPen team – a group of friendly, collaborative and highly competent folks who believe, as I do, that everyone deserves a quality place to call home. I also love the challenge of financing affordable housing. To me this is the perfect blend of intellectually challenging work and making a positive difference in the world!”

In the highly complex realm of affordable housing finance, Alice is well known as one of the industry’s best strategists. Her 25+ year track record speaks for itself having secured nearly $1.7 billion to fund the development of over 10,500 homes for low-income families and seniors across Northern California and Hawaii. Alice joined MidPen in 2013 where, in her role as SVP of Finance, she leads the team that provides strategic direction for the funding of all new development as well as portfolio renovations. Prior to MidPen, Alice started her career at the Mayor’s Office of Housing in San Francisco and then assisted non-profit developers as a consultant at Community Economics, Inc.

An active advocate on statewide housing issues, Alice is frequently called on for her expertise and presents regularly on housing finance innovations and best practices at industry conferences. When she’s not focused on finding money to build much needed affordable housing, you’ll find Alice hiking in the East Bay Hills or biking around Oakland.
