Andrew Bielak

Associate Director of Housing Development
“MidPen’s mission resonates with me because our commitment to strengthening communities has always felt deeply authentic. Affordable housing in the Bay Area is an incredibly challenging issue – MidPen brings not only decades of expertise but also humility and openness to listen and adapt to changing circumstances.”

Andrew joined MidPen in July 2016 as a development project manager before his leadership position as an Associate Director of Development. In this role, Andrew collaborates with MidPen staff and external stakeholders on the design, entitlements, financing, and construction of MidPen’s communities. He provides guidance and oversight to a team of project managers who work on development deals from pre-entitlements through completion of construction.

MidPen’s mission-driven work inspires Andrew and lends a sense of purpose to his role. Recent accomplishments include Andrew’s key role in developing award-winning Arroyo Green Apartments in Redwood City, 117 affordable homes for seniors in downtown Redwood City with a ground-floor childcare center and public walking trail.

Andrew is busy outside of work, too; he’s often chasing after his toddler, Toby, and trying to prevent a dust-up between him and the family cat, Marshmallow. Andrew also enjoys playing piano, swinging a tennis racket, and riding his bike.
