Erica Ruff

Director of Learning and Development
“I am passionate about helping people grow and develop their skills, and it’s such an honor to be able to do that at MidPen. Knowing that I am making an impact on the lives of our employees, who turn around and make a huge impact on the lives of our residents and our communities —there’s no better feeling than that!”

As the Director of Learning and Development at MidPen Housing, Erica has been helping the company’s 500+ employees become the best versions of themselves since November 2020.

She and her team are committed to creating a learning culture at MidPen Housing. They work closely with employees to identify strengths and areas for growth, and design, develop, and deliver customized training programs to meet department needs. With a focus on professional skills, technology, leadership development, and job-skill building, Erica and her team are lucky enough to work with MidPenners from day one of their MidPen careers.

Prior to joining MidPen Housing, Erica spent 20+ years in the learning and development space working for companies large and small, local and global, for-profit and non-profit…but the one constant was her love of learning and commitment to providing the highest quality learning experience for everyone.

When not working, Erica loves binging Netflix with her two grown-up kids and four cats. She also spends a lot of time volunteering with the Girl Scouts (she helps run a camp for 300 kids every summer) and is on the NorCal board of Odyssey of the Mind.
