The Gateway was Menlo Park’s first low-income family housing complex. MidPen Housing Corp. acquired the property in 1986 and completed a comprehensive rehabilitation of the apartments and grounds the following year. All of the units were upgraded and buildings were removed where necessary, transitioning the spaces into residences that were about to accommodate large families. The Gateway offers resident amenities, including a central courtyard, playground, community room, computer center, as well as onsite services and connections to community resources.
The waitlist for Menlo Gateway is managed by the Housing Authority of San Mateo County.
