MidPen Housing Invests in Residents’ Futures with Scholarship Awards

Foster City, CA, September 29, 2025 —MidPen Housing recently awarded scholarships to 62 residents across eight counties in Northern California, continuing its commitment to residents’ growth and opportunity. Since MidPen launched the Resident Tuition Aid Program (RTAP) in 2017, it has awarded more than 300 scholarships totaling $800,000. MidPen Housing, a leading nonprofit developer and operator of high-quality affordable housing, delivers on-site, resident-directed services that empower individuals and families to thrive.

Each year, MidPen invites residents to apply for competitive scholarships of $1,000 to $5,000 to pursue educational goals such as vocational certifications, professional training, and undergraduate and graduate degrees. Awardees may use funds for tuition, books, supplies, and required equipment.

Past recipient Gabriela Huerta said the scholarship “made a tremendous impact on my educational journey by alleviating some of the financial burden and stress…A million thanks to RTAP for believing in me!” Gabriela recently earned a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and aspires to bring about positive societal change by practicing family law.
