Daezela Irby

Associate Director of Property Operations
MidPen’s mission inspires me because it aligns with my belief that everyone deserves a safe, supportive and dignified place to call home. I feel privileged to be part of an organization that not only strengthens communities and supports residents’ growth, but also invests in its staff, fostering a culture where teams are empowered, valued and able to deliver their best work.

Daezela Irby joined MidPen in October 2025 as Associate Director of Property Opertaions.  In this role she provides strategic oversight for the communities within her portfolio, ensuring they meet operational, occupancy, and compliance standards while staying centered on the needs of staff and residents. Daezela’s leadership focuses on supporting teams, removing barriers, and creating a stable caring environment where residents can thrive.

Prior to joining MidPen, Daezela worked as Associate Director of Property Operations at the Oakland Housing Authority.  While there she oversaw the full public housing operations for OHA’s largest public housing communities, ensuring compliance, occupancy stability, and high-quality service delivery. She also worked as Associate Director of Property Operations, Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corp. supervising operations for half of TNDC’s permanent supportive housing sites, sustaining occupancy and performance in the Tenderloin neighborhood despite complex community dynamics.

The most rewarding part of her role is supporting the growth and development of her teams while seeing the communities they manage thrive. It’s fulfilling to contribute to environments where both staff and residents feel empowered, stable and proud to call MidPen or their community home.

When she’s not at work, Daezela is an avid baker and loves sharing her creations with coworkers, friends and family. At home, she is a devoted fur mom to two Yorkies who enjoy walks, cuddles and a few cute outfits here and there.
