Juan Rios

Associate Director, Resident Services
MidPen’s mission resonates with me because I believe deeply in the power of dignity, stability, and community to transform lives, and I’ve seen those values come to life in the relationships we build with residents and each other. I’m humbled to work alongside people whose resilience, compassion, and commitment to belonging inspire me every day, and grateful for the chance to help strengthen the programs, partnerships, and support systems that make thriving possible in our communities.

As Associate Director of Resident Services, Juan supports and grows a high-performing team, stewards high quality resident programs and partnerships, and strengthens the systems that ensure MidPen communities experience consistent, mission aligned support.

During his 20-year tenure at MidPen, Juan has served as a Coordinator, Services Manager, Program Manager, and Senior Program Manager, each role deepening his commitment to resident stability and progressively expanding his impact across communities and teams. In these roles, he strengthened resident centered programs, developed and coached staff, built mission aligned partnerships, and advanced key initiatives such as the Tuition Aid Program to support long term resident stability and opportunity.

Recently, Juan reached 20 years of service at MidPen, a milestone that reflects the people and purpose that have shaped his journey. From the incredible teams he has been part of, to the colleagues and partners he has learned from, to the resilient residents MidPen serves, it’s the relationships and shared commitment to the mission that makes working at MidPen so meaningful to Juan.

The most rewarding part of Juan’s job is knowing that his work helps residents build stability, opportunity, and a sense of belonging. Being able to provide and connect people to resources that support their financial, educational, and physical well-being is a privilege that keeps him grounded in MidPen’s mission every day.

Outside of work, Juan can usually be found me cheering on all Bay Area sports teams, catching a live concert, cracking up at a comedy club, or cruising the local bike trails.
