Brenda Castillo-Garza

Interim Head of Resident Services
“Growing up in a poor neighborhood, my parents worked multiple jobs and sacrificed their individual goals and aspirations to ensure my brothers, sisters, and I had a home, access to good health care and education. I am honored to work in an organization that prioritizes housing as a right and not a privilege, and demands for equitable access to opportunities that will empower residents to live their lives to the fullest.”

As Vice President, Resident Services, Brenda oversees all programming including economic stability and mobility, health and wellness, and educational opportunities to empower residents to achieve their goals and aspirations. She was appointed Interim Head of Resident Services in April 2024.

During her 10-year (and counting) career at MidPen, Brenda is incredibly proud of the programs and opportunities that she has helped shaped and sustain over the years – particularly the after-school program and MidPen’s work on resident economic mobility.

Brenda notes that the highlight of her MidPen experience is the opportunity to work with a dynamic, resourceful, and extremely driven team that has a deep passion for creating and delivering programs and solutions that empower a team, company, and families to meet and exceed desired expectations.

Brenda loves to bake, cook, and occasionally paint. However, most of her time outside of work is spent with her two children, her husband, and her extended family. If she’s not on a softball or baseball field with her kids, you can find her rooting on the Golden State Warriors and her beloved San Francisco Giants.
