Lisa Howlett began her journey with MidPen in early 2018 as an Associate Project Manager, supporting MidPen’s very first development in Oakland. What followed was seven years of growth, both for the Brooklyn Basin community and for Lisa herself. As four phases of housing took shape for seniors, families, and individuals experiencing homelessness, Lisa’s dedication to affordable housing deepened alongside her passion for collaboratively tackling complex challenges.
Since then, she has led a number of multi-phase developments across the Bay Area, including projects in San Francisco and Alameda. Now, as Associate Director, Lisa is excited for the opportunity to both drive meaningful projects forward and invest in the next generation of affordable housing professionals.
Prior to MidPen, Lisa worked at BRIDGE Housing, assisting in the occupied rehabilitation of seven Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) developments in San Francisco. Lisa worked closely with MOHCD, BRIDGE’s Resident Services department and on-site service providers to bring much needed supportive services to these longtime residents.
Outside of work, Lisa is happiest exploring the Bay Area and West Coast with her partner and dog. Camp or a hotel, beach or mountain, bike or hike — she’s always up for the next adventure.
