Mengxin joined MidPen Housing in May 2025 and plays a key role in advancing the financial success of our housing developments. She works with all members of the development team to craft strong financing strategies to build and preserve our affordable communities, secure public and private funding sources, and ensure long-term financial sustainability of projects throughout their lifecycle.
Before MidPen, Mengxin was a Senior Acquisitions Manager at Merritt Community Capital, where she led the closing and conversion of LIHTC equity funded affordable housing projects across California. As an Associate Director of Financial Consulting at the California Housing Partnership, she provided financial technical assistance and training to nonprofit and government clients across the Bay Area and helped secure over $1.5B in financing to create or preserve more than 2,300 affordable homes. She also managed large-scale rehabilitation projects as a Project Manager at EAH Housing, improving housing for more than 750 residents.
When she’s not deep in spreadsheets or structuring financing, you can find Mengxin at the barre—literally! She recently became a certified Pure Barre teacher and loves to travel to new places, soaking in different cultures and perspectives to keep life dynamic and full of learning.
