Michael Delapaz joined MidPen in March 2025. In his current role as Director of Facilities and Capital Projects, Michael provides strategic leadership for facilities and capital projects and programs as well as focusing on preventative maintenance, technical training, capital planning and operational excellence across MidPen’s whole portfolio.
Prior to being promoted to his current role, Michael worked as Regional Maintenance Manager and a Facilities Construction Coordinator. As a Regional Maintenance Manager, he provided training and certification programs on how to fix and maintain fixed assets. As Facilities Construction Coordinator, Michael completed projects and addressed safety concerns identified during the annual inspections.
A recent work accomplishment was facilitating the Training Center breakout session with colleagues at the MidPen Annual Meeting. Collaborating with everyone on planning and building the stations, creating the curriculum, and presenting at the meeting was a joy to be a part of.
When he’s not at work, Michael enjoys an outdoor lifestyle from fishing to hiking. When he has free time he’s either fishing for halibut in Monterey Bay or hiking the eastern Sierras fishing for trout in the alpine lakes.
