Nesreen Kawar

Associate Director of Housing Development

Nesreen Kawar joined MidPen in 2015 as a Project Manager and during her tenure has managed numerous developments in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Alameda Counties, including senior housing, family housing, permanent supportive housing (PSH) and housing for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Most recently, Nesreen completed construction of a 100% PSH development in San Jose, totaling 108 homes. In her current role as Associate Director of Housing Development, Nesreen continues to manage projects in all phases of development, while also mentoring and guiding junior staff. She’s also a member of MidPen’s Collective Voices for Equity Council.

Prior to joining MidPen, Nesreen worked at Hello Housing and specialized in developing homes for adults with developmental disabilities. While there she helped manage the Bay Area Housing Plan (BAHP), a pilot project which provided permanent housing and services integrated in the community, for over 200 former Agnews Developmental Center residents. Nesreen was instrumental in securing 60 properties in 19 jurisdictions for the BAHP.

Outside of work, Nesreen loves exploring the world through the eyes of her toddler, getting in a good workout (she’s passionate about health and fitness), and taking a vacation. Growing up in four different countries, she always has the itch to travel!
