MidPen Celebrates 50 years with a virtual event
n 1970, a small but influential coalition of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, UC Berkeley and Stanford faculty and other community leaders came together to address concerns over the lack of affordable housing in the San Francisco Bay Area – and MidPen Housing was born.

Nearly 400 MidPenners supported our communities via a number of virtual and in-person projects in partnership with Hands On Bay Area. Some participated in virtual activities like text banking or moderating virtual high school debates, some put together wellness journals, to be delivered to people around the Bay Area, and some even helped out in person, beautifying San Jose’s Municipal Rose Garden!
