FOSTER CITY, CA—MidPen Housing has promoted Abby Goldware Potluri and Joanna Carman to Senior Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of Housing Development. MidPen is one of the most trusted nonprofit developers, owners, and managers of high-quality affordable housing in Northern California.
In their new roles, Potluri and Carman (pictured above, left to right) share executive oversight of a team of more than 50 development professionals who are advancing a pipeline of 5,000 affordable homes, including nearly 1,500 currently under construction.
The pair bring nearly three decades of expertise, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities into these new roles. Potluri joined MidPen’s Development Team in 2008, earning successive promotions to her most recent role as Vice President of Housing Development. In Carman’s five years as a MidPen Director of Development, she has advanced innovative developments and expanded our impact in the Central Coast region. Both are known as strategic, compassionate leaders who are deeply committed to mission and skilled in all aspects of affordable housing development, including entitlements, community engagement, financing, and construction.
“Through many in-depth conversations with team members, the idea of co-leadership–a new concept for MidPen–emerged as the best way for us to build on our collaborative culture and realize a shared vision for the future,” said Matthew O. Franklin, MidPen Housing’s President and CEO. “This is an exciting opportunity for Abby and Joanna to leverage their complementary strengths to inspire the team, drive innovation, and strengthen partnerships across the company and sector so that we can continue to deliver exceptional results.”
