MidPen Housing Hires Amy Steadman as Chief People Officer

She joins MidPen with more than 20 years of comprehensive business and functional HR experience, including a strong track record of building extraordinary cultures.

FOSTER CITY, CA, August 19, 2024—MidPen Housing has hired Amy Steadman as Chief People Officer to lead the organization’s human resources function and overall people strategy for its team of 600 employees. MidPen is one of the largest nonprofit developers, owners, and managers of high-quality affordable housing in Northern California. 

Amy joins MidPen with more than 20 years of comprehensive business and functional HR experience, including a strong track record of building extraordinary cultures. Previously, Amy served as Chief Human Resources Officer for See’s Candies, where she designed and delivered a holistic human resources strategy in support of the 100-year-old company’s overall mission. Earlier, as Chief People Officer for ABD Insurance & Financial Services, she oversaw the building of the company–with an award-winning culture–from a founding group of 129 to more than 400 employees and, when the company merged with Newfront, co-led aspects of change management, including the integration of cultures, work streams, and operational platforms. 

She holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and earned Senior Certified Professional and Senior Professional in Human Resources certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management.
