In his own words:
I have a job that’s as fulfilling to me as it is essential to my clients: I’m a home health caregiver in Santa Clara County. At the forefront of my job decision was wanting to pay it forward and help people with chronic illnesses, disabilities, and other health challenges. In the future, I may explore certification as a nursing assistant to expand my career in healthcare.
Having experienced some serious medical issues of my own, I can honestly say that moving into Shorebreeze Apartments changed my life. Since I moved in three years ago, I’ve been able to focus on fixing my health. The staff here are amazing, and they are so supportive of residents. With the peace of mind that comes with affordable rent, I was able to get a job that I love and that gives back to the community.
As someone who was born and raised in the Bay Area, I know that the struggle to afford housing is real. My mom, who’s one of my role models, started out as a janitor and, through hard work, ended up as a satellite systems manager. We talk about how everyone goes through ups and downs during the cycle of life. Thanks in part to MidPen, I feel like I’m heading in the right direction for me.
