The service provides students with a safe way to get to school — both public and private schools are coordinating with SMART on bus transfers for their students from the system’s stations — and helps seniors stay mobile and get out of their homes to support local businesses. Meanwhile, a network of multiuse paths is being expanded to safely connect bikers and walkers to stations.
