Foon Lok East

Foon Lok East is a part of Brooklyn Basin, a master-planned community along Oakland’s waterfront. The community provides 124 affordable rental apartments for low- and extremely low-income working families and individuals who have experienced homelessness. Residents of Foon Lok East enjoy community amenities including a multi-purpose community room, computer lab, learning center, secured bicycle parking, and a landscaped courtyard with playground and BBQ area. Local artists and students created the original artwork curated throughout the public spaces, including an exterior mural on the building’s northeast corner. Foon Lok East and neighboring Foon Lok West are located across from Brooklyn Basin’s renovated and repurposed 9th Ave. Terminal and Township Commons public park. Foon Lok East is the fourth and final phase of affordable housing development at Brooklyn Basin, totaling 465 affordable apartment homes.
