MidPen Housing acquired Runnymede Gardens from a Section 8 HAP contract that was scheduled to expire to preserve the property’s affordability. MidPen began a rehabilitation of the 1980s property in 2001, including renovation of the common areas, carpet replacement, new drapery, appliances, countertops and cabinets where necessary, bathroom fixtures, painting, and private balcony or patio upgrades. Onsite amenities include a community room, a computer center, resident lounges on the second and third floors, security-gated parking, and laundry rooms on each floor. Runnymede Gardens is located within walking distance of city hall, the main library, a post office and a county office for housing, social services, and health services, as well as access to many bus routes.
