CalFresh

Program Details

CalFresh is California’s nutrition assistance program that helps eligible individuals and families buy healthy food. Benefits are provided monthly on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which can be used at grocery stores, farmers’ markets, and participating retailers. CalFresh can help stretch food budgets and improve access to nutritious meals. 

CalFresh and Food Security Assistance 

The CalFresh Initiative provides residents with support in learning about CalFresh benefits and completing the application process. MidPen site staff or partner organizations can support residents with: 

  • Understand CalFresh eligibility requirements. 
  • Complete and submit CalFresh applications. 
  • Gather required documentation. 
  • Renew existing CalFresh benefits. 
  • Access community food resources and nutrition education.

Who Is Eligible 

  • All California residents who meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Resident may qualify for CalFresh based on household size, income, and other program requirements.
  • Resident must be willing to provide information needed to determine eligibility and complete the application process.

How to Apply

  1. Contact your MidPen site staff or complete the GO Program Interest Form.
  2. Meet with staff for application assistance.
  3. Submit your CalFresh application or renewal paperwork. 
  4. Complete any required county interviews or follow-up requests
