Learn & Earn: Digital Literacy

Program Details

  • Classes are 60 minutes long and happen twice a week. You’ll join the classes online using Zoom.
  • You can also have one-on-one meetings with the teacher to ask questions, get help with tech issues, or get career advice. These meetings can be online or in person, depending on where you live.
  • For each hour you attend class, you will earn $18, and you can earn up to $594 in total.
  • To get a certificate at the end, you need to finish all the assignments and attend at least 75% of the classes.
  • If you want to be contacted when the classes start, fill out the GO Programs Interest Form.

Who Is Eligible

  • Resident must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Resident must have their name on the lease.
  • Resident must be in good standing.

Who Is the Ideal Candidate

The best people for this program are those who want to get better at using computers and computer applications to help with their job, feel more confident, or make everyday tasks easier. You should also be comfortable learning online.

Necessary Materials

  • A reliable internet connection (available at resident properties).
  • A Windows-based laptop or desktop computer running Windows 10 or later.*
  • Headphones.**
*If you have a laptop computer you wish to use for the course, please confirm with MidPen site staff that it has all the qualifying components. **Computers and headphones can be borrowed at no cost from MidPen.

How to Apply

  • Fill out an online registration form.
  • MidPen site staff will assist in completing the registration materials.
  • The whole process will take about 20-30 minutes.
