Baker Park, an affordable rental housing community for families in San Jose, offers townhouse-style units built around a large central courtyard with towering redwood trees. With architectural elements that reflect the surrounding residential neighborhood, Baker Park adjoins an elementary school so the community’s children may safely walk to and from their classes without crossing any streets. A centrally located community room houses a computer center and serves as the hub for children’s and youth services, including an afterschool and summer program. Baker Park received the 1996 Gold Nugget Award of Merit for Best Affordable Housing from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference.
