MidPen Housing Corp. built Redwood Court, Redwood City’s first subsidized family housing development, in 1983, and rehabilitated it in 2004. Four years after it was built, Redwood Court and MidPen Housing were recognized by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the County Housing Task Force for outstanding achievement in family rental housing development and presented with the 1987 Affordable Housing Award. The community consists of both affordable garden apartments and townhomes in an attractive residential setting. All units offer private balconies and patios, and the buildings have been refurbished with new siding. Amenities also include laundry facilities and a tot lot.
