Program Details

Each year, MidPen Resident Services awards scholarships via a Tuition Aid program to residents who are continuing their education. MidPen believes in supporting and empowering residents in reaching their educational and financial goals.

What Tuition Aid Can Be Used For

  • Academic fees at accredited public or nonprofit colleges, community colleges, universities, or trade/professional school.
  • Fees, books, supplies, and equipment needed for courses at these schools.

What Tuition Aid Can Not Be Used For

  • Tuition Aid may not be used at for-profit schools or institutions.

Scholarship Amount

  • Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year.
  • The maximum amount awarded to one person is $5,000 per year.
  • Applying doesn’t guarantee a scholarship award. The exact amount of any scholarship is only known when it is awarded.

How Scholarships Are Paid

  • Tuition Aid is paid directly to the recipient’s approved academic institution. MidPen Services ensures that funds are delivered to the institution as quickly as possible.

Who Is Eligible

  • Resident must have their name on the lease.
  • Resident must be in good standing.
  • Resident must have received a high school diploma, GED, or passed the HiSET.
  • Resident must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Resident must be enrolled in an advanced education or career opportunity for the upcoming academic year. This may include college, community college, university or trade/professional school or institute.

How to Apply

  • Applications open on June 1st at 9 am PST and are due by June 30th at 11:59 pm PST. No late applications will be accepted.
  • To apply:
    • Visit the MidPen Housing website: MidPen Housing RTAP
    • Scan the QR code provided.
    • All application materials are only available during this period.
    • Submit your application and all required documents through the online link. No exceptions will be made.
  • Fill out the GO Programs Interest Form to receive reminders and updates on the scholarship dates.

FAQ

What does “good standing” mean? Your housing status at  MidPen is in good shape, and you don’t have any legal problems. Are part-time students eligible? Applicants with part-time student status are eligible to apply for Tuition Aid if they meet all eligibility criteria. Can I apply for a Tuition Aid if I previously received it? Yes, previous recipients of Tuition Aid are welcome to apply for new scholarships if they meet eligibility criteria. Tuition Aid recipients from prior years will not receive preference.  Can I apply for Tuition Aid if another member of my household applies and/or has previously been awarded a scholarship? Multiple members from the same household can apply for Tuition Aid, provided that each applicant meets eligibility criteria. Each household member must submit an independent, complete application to be considered for a scholarship.
