Learn & Earn

These three educational programs allow you to gain valuable skills and certifications while getting paid. Computers are provided. Courses are taught online during evening hours to accommodate working adults, and you have access to the instructor for one-on-one sessions, questions, and coaching. No experience is needed. Participants can earn up to $18/hour.

ESL: English language classes can open job opportunities and help you communicate confidently with the teachers, doctors, and others in your community. 12-week beginner and intermediate classes, 2 evenings per week, are available. Click for more details.

Digital Literacy: Learn how to use popular computer programs, online tools, and social media platforms in this 12-week course, 4 evenings per week, which includes discussions, hands-on learning, and exercises. Click for more details.

GED, HiSET, High School Diploma: Earn your high school equivalency diploma. This program allows you to customize a learning and testing schedule to fit your needs, along with weekly in-person instruction. Click for more details.

Benefits Assistance

You may qualify for valuable benefits through programs including CalFresh, Medi-Cal, unemployment insurance, rental/utility assistance, and more. This program gives you personal one-on-one support to access and maintain the assistance you deserve. Click for more details.

Cell-Ed

Get ESL and other skill-building lessons from the convenience of your mobile device or flip phone. Learn English on your own schedule—in as little as 3 minutes per day. Virtual coaching and in-person learning groups are available, helping you grow confidence through a shared community. Click for more details.

Focus Card

Unlock financial resources with a special no-fee debit card, allowing you to make purchases, get paid faster for Learn & Earn with direct deposits or tax refunds, and the option to open a personal savings account. Click for more details.

Tax Relief

Learn how to get the most out of your income tax savings, including up to $6,000 or more in tax refunds by claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC). We can also provide general tax filing advice and refer you to free tax services if needed. Click for more details

We make it simple through convenient no-cost resources, flexible options, and onsite support. Whenever possible, we work with trusted local partners offering proven programs and methods. Through our Learn & Earn classes, MidPen residents can even get paid to grow their opportunities.
